Creating connections with people (click here)

There is nothing more important in the second half of life than to have likeminded friends to have fun with. Because we consider this to be a high value to Significant Living, we are forming chapters all over America. What do you think about forming groups of SL Chapters?

As a chapter hopeful, I would like to see some social activity, community service, small group Bible study and travel both for both missions and pleasure. We are not 20 or 30 anymore but neither are we 70 or 80 yet. My church has divorced, single and widowed people in middle age and many of us without children or grandchildren. I hope and pray that SL50 will be a safe environment for friendship, accountability, encouragement and prayer. As a “Christian AARP” for ministering and being ministered to with like-minded people…we will bless and be blessed!

Well, I have reached that 70 milestone, and am looking forward to reaching the 80th as well. I certainly don't want SL to be a "Christian AARP" I got out of AARP, because they did not adhere to principles that I believe in. Already in a small group Bible study, that has been meeting weekly for about 15 years. Travel to missions is more pleasure than any pleasure vacation can achieve.

I think it's a great idea. I agree with Carol about friendship, accountability and encouragement.

I am a recent subscriber to SL and look forward to meeting other seniors on mission trips and any other trips or meetings that become available. I have been a widow for one year and I am trying to find places to serve and to give encouragement and friendship to those in need. I too agree with Carol.

Right on! I am definately interested and ascribe to all that Carol said. I have several interests - travel, service and Bible studies to mention a few. Count me in

As Christians, we are called to encourage, serve, love and support those around us as well as share with the unsaved. SL50 bills itself as a Christian AARP with the key word being Christian. I work in a church, volunteer in ministry, and also hold a travel agent license which I use part-time. In addition to helping clients with leisure trips, I provide the best fare tickets for Short Term Adult Missions Projects. I am blessed with faith, work, charity, and freedom. My goal in SL50 is to further fulfill God's purpose for my life and give Him all the glory!

I am eagerly looking forward to participating in a SL chapter in my area. I would look forward to fellowship, friendship, fun and ministry opportunities with the group. Missions trips are high on my list of things to do under Gods leading. I leave next week for an African mission. These chapters can not come together too soon.

As we live in ocean community there is a great need for a grouup like what you have suggested. I think that as the Churches hear about this, perhaps some will be interested in joining and reading your excellent magazine. Shirley

I am SO excited about this venture, and cannot wait for that e-mail announcing the first meeting of the chapter in our area!

Thank you, Jane Terry, and all the others who are working to make this possible.

(Psst...please do hurry, will you?!)
